Why a Story?
What happens when a child weaves a tall tale? Their right-brain creates juices to keep them focussed. The right brain is the storehouse of multiple talents, problem solving, lateral thinking, spatial learning, even humour! Schools focus heavily on developing the analytic left-brain but the power of the right brain is untapped. When a child weaves a story, they develop strong communication, critical thinking, and creativity. They connect emotionally to the characters. Books take us away from this world into many fantastical ones where we are sometimes the hero, other times the jester! For children, stories provide an opportunity to explore their imaginations and develop empathy for characters. Stories become even more transforming when our child writes them. Writing stories encourages empathy and emotional intelligence, essential qualities for success and leadership. Facing challenges in the writing process, overcoming writer's block or running out of inspiration teaches resilience so they don’t give up. Moreover, in an AI-driven world, only the storytellers can hold our attention and lead people, whether during presentations or strategy meetings. Overall, story writing prepares children to navigate the complexities of the future with self-confidence.

Three Pathways-
1. Young Author Launchpad – Are you a reader, dreamer or joyful storyteller? Launchpad is your first step into the literary wonderland to write and publish your first short story within a classic anthology.
2. Advanced Author Club – Are you ready to dive deep into backstories, nonlinear narrations or complex themes? The club is a continuation pathway for published young authors itching to tell a longer-form story, still within a polished anthology. A stepping stone to independent book publishing!
3. Signature Book Program – Are you ready to see your name on the cover of your book? Signature is a fully personalised pathway for both young and adult writers ready to create an independent book. You receive every support from mentoring and manuscript building to publishing, all at your own pace.

Program One:
Young Author Launchpad (The Launchpad)
This is your tribe if you see Amazon as a bookstore, you pack a book first for any outing and prefer to live in your inner world of imagination to the one outside.
Suggested age- 8 to 16 years
This is the initiation into authorship for readers, dreamers and blossoming storytellers.
- Phase 1: Group Mentoring
Children will let their guards down, break mental barriers and let their imagination fly high. We will use many crazy games to connect with their inner genius. The children will then learn about a hook, using embodied words, integrating all five senses, building tension in the plot, adding a twist, the role of Hero or Guru, and how to end well. Introduction to navarasas, monomyth template, giving characters unique voices, maintaining pace are included. These prized skills will take their storytelling from good to awesome! - Phase 2: Personal Sessions
Each child will get individual sessions with Coach Garima as and when needed to sort through the hiccups. These discussions will lead to the most polished version of their story. - Phase 3: Editing
Children will be given a deadline to finish the story. Usually four days after the personal session. They will have constant whatsapp support till they finish. Completing the 1500 word story before the deadline is compulsory. - Phase 4: Publishing work behind-the-scenes
It takes between 6 to 10 months for this phase. Nothing more is needed from the child but Coach Garima along with the entire publishing team is working hard on editing, layout, cover design, proofing and printing You will receive 10 copies of your professionally published book, your labour of love.. - Phase 5: Book Launch
A beautifully curated memorable event for the child and their family in Pune. The child’s accomplishments are honoured with speaking opportunity, media coverage, trophies and certificates in the presence of dignitaries.
Book will include a photograph and short author profile of each child, alongside the story.
Entry test is compulsory.
Start date: July 1st, 2026
Fees: 25,000/- only
Scholarships: upto Rs. 5000/- depending on quality of writing sample.
Program Two:
Advanced Author Club (The Club)
This is your tribe if the world quietly fades into the background every time you begin to write. If “take your time” is meaningless and if your best friends are the characters you created in your fantastical story.
Suggested age- 9 to 18 years
A continuation pathway for published authors, with preference to those in Launchpad, ready to advance to longer-form writing.
Phase 1: Group Mentoring
- Deep dive into human psyche to craft layered characters
- Apply psychological principles to create unforgettable settings and dialogues (Coach Garima is a positive psychologist!)
- Build contrasts and contradictions to hook the reader
- Greater focus on character arc
- Refined use of backstories
- Subtle and indirect dialogue writing
- Depth in layered themes
- Nonlinear narration
- Maintain pace, using cliffhangers to change chapters
- Discuss your story draft in group with other authors
Phase 2: Personal journey
Personal one-on-one sessions with Coach Garima to write between 5000 -10,000 word story.
Phase 3: Editing
Receive and provide editorial feedback. Improve your story based on the received feedback.
Phase 4: Publishing work behind-the-scenes
It takes between 6 to 10 months for this phase. Nothing is needed from the child but Coach Garima along with the entire publishing team is working hard on editing, layout, cover design, proofing and printing.
You will receive 5 copies of your professionally published book, your labour of love.
Phase 5: Book Launch

This is your tribe if you dream of your name on a book cover. Your tale is an enormous beast that refuses to be tamed into a few thousand words.
Suggested age- Children and Adults
Signature is a personalised pathway for writers ready to create an independent book, supported through expert mentoring, editorial refinement, and publishing guidance. You may enter Signature at any stage, whether toying with a plot idea, sitting on a 50,000 word manuscript or somewhere in between.
Signature is designed to take your book from possibility to reality, through steady support at every stage of the writing and publishing process.
Fees: Rs. 3000 hourly or Rs. 60,000/- end-to-end package.
Optional marketing and book promotion: Optional post-publication support includes promotional visibility through Coach Garima’s Instagram, along with book listing on Coach Garima’s Amazon bookstore.

Garima Gupta is a psychologist educated in the US and India. She is a Happiness Coach, Parenting guide, and Founder of The Happiness Institute, Pune. She is Chairperson for ALL Ladies League Pune Parenting Chapter. Garima conducts workshops for psychology students and lay persons. Her popular student program is Wired for Success which trains them for growth mindset, resilience and responsibility. Garima received straight A’s and a GPA of 4.0/ 4.0 in the Advanced Course in Rehabilitation from UMDNJ, USA. She was the University rank holder in both Masters and Bachelors degrees in Psychology from SPPU.
